Mission Statement
To preserve and record our community's heritage with digitising the collection of local historical documentation held by our Society.
To preserve the photographic collection and digitise them, to safeguard their existence.
To record all events within our town and local area.
To share our vast collection of local history with others.
To aid and assist those researching their family histories.
To work with our Local Council in assisting them supplying heritage facts and figures.

Leeton Family and Local History Society Strategic Plan 2023/24
Goal:
We will become the trusted, pre-eminent and lead historical organisation in Leeton Shire
Action Plan:
1. Increasing LF&LHS membership
a) Increase membership by 25% over the next three years
b) Organise at least two historical excursions per year
c) Organise at least two twilight meetings per year
d) Update and review membership list annually
e) Survey membership annually, to determine individual interests and directions for activities
2. Referencing system in place for research
a) Organise a meeting with RRL by June 2023 to determine suitable cataloguing systems for LF&LHS use
b) Identify members with expertise with systems to mentor members in cataloguing processes for twelve months
c) Catalogue 10% of LF&LHS materials over three years
3. Financial organisation
a) Increase Society income by 10% over three years
b) Acquire a ‘tap-and-go’ machine and explore Xero accounting over two years
c) Explore acquiring DGR tax-deductibility with ATO within twelve months
d) Explore local sponsorship of the LF&LHS over twelve months
e) Audit all Society assets every twelve months
4. Governance review; constitution, policies and induction
a) Develop and implement Strategic Plan by the next Society AGM
b) Review constitution with intention to obtain DGR within two years
c) Evaluate all current Society policies over twelve months
d) Develop an induction program for members over two years
Strategic Plan timeline:
1. April: for Executive consideration, amendment, and approval
2. May: distribution of amended plan to membership for their information
3. July: SP adoption at AGM
4. Thereafter: quarterly review of SP implementation and progress by Executive
